SAS offer these 3 types of certificates for SAS Foundation tools.

  1. SAS Certified Specialist: Base Programming Using SAS 9.4
    Successful candidates should have experience in programming and data management using SAS 9.4 and should be able to:
    • Read and create data files.
    • Manipulate and transform data.
    • Create basic detail and summary reports using Base SAS procedures like-means, freq.
    • Identify and correct syntax and programming logic errors.
    Exam details:
      –This exam is managed by SAS Institute Inc. and Pearson VUE.
    • 40-45 multiple choice and short-answer questions.
    • 125 minutes to complete exam.
    • Passing score is 725; uses a score range from 200 to 1,000 points. For more information about scaled scores.
    • Use exam ID A00-231; required when registering with Pearson VUE.
    • Use exam ID A00-233 if you currently hold the SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9 credential. This is a shorter, less
    • expensive delta exam. It is 75 minutes, 18-22 questions, and costs $75 USD.
    • This exam is based on SAS 9.4 .

  2. Advanced Programming Credentials
    SAS offer two types of certificate for advanced programming:
    1. SAS Certified Professional: Advanced Programming Using SAS 9.4
    2. – New! Performance-based exam format. Program in SAS during your exam.
    3. SAS Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS 9
  3. SAS Certified Clinical Trials Programmer Using SAS 9
